Project could net East Valley High a $140,000 tech package

From a pool of 2,300 schools, Yakima’s East Valley High School has survived to become one of 15 finalists nationwide in the running for a technology package worth $140,000.

Electronics giant Samsung made the announcement Monday in conjunction with its Solve for Tomorrow contest. The school will present its entry proposal on an enhanced use of irrigation water to a panel of judges next week in Austin, Texas; five winning entries will be announced in the spring.
