RISE UP/GEAR UP

Toppenish High School STEM Showcase 2013

The fourth annual Toppenish HS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) Student Showcase was held at the high school’s Performing Arts Center on January 14th, 2013  from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

Approximately 300 students from grades 9 – 12 participated in developing and presenting projects from their engineering and biomedical science classes.

Hundreds of parents, families, community members, and school staff attended the event to participate in the students’ well-researched and interactive projects, representing the career fields of Digital Electronics, Engineering, Biomedical Science, Medical Interventions, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.  Toppenish HS Engineering and Biomedical teacher, Shawn Myers, particularly likes the STEM showcase, because “. . . our students become the experts and have the opportunity to share their expertise with business and industry professionals.”
